Cheese Toast

There's cheese toast and then there's cheese toast. Ladies and gentlemen, this ain't no ordinary cheese toast. This stuff is fabulous. Make sure whatever you're serving as a main dish can outshine these slices of heaven because otherwise you might find yourself eating only cheese toast for dinner.

I may have some experience in this.

Makes one loaf

Ingredients
1 loaf French bread (I used our local grocery bread, which happens to be very similar. Lucky me!)
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/8 cup minced onion
1 clove garlic, minced, optional

Directions
1) Cut through bread loaf horizontally, and then vertically into thick slices. Arrange bread on a baking sheet.
2) Combine remaining ingredients in a small bowl. Spread mixture onto bread slices.
3) Bake for 3-5 minutes at 400 degrees or until bread becomes toasty. Broil for additional 2-3 minutes, if desired, until the cheese is golden brown.
